Herts #55: Pishiobury Park

With many interesting historical features, this park dates back to the 18th century, and is now a tranquil escape for walkers and wildlife alike.

Nearest town: Sawbridgeworth

Distance: Flexible

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes was plenty to cover the grounds but it's a super flexible location and you can very easily just keep exploring and hiking for long distances

Pishiobury Park is a registered historic parkland (Grade 2 star) with a history that spans from the Neolithic period, with evidence of Roman occupation, links to Henry VIII and evidence of ‘Capability’ Brown style landscape features. Read more about this location here: Pishiobury Park | ParksHerts

The car park is free, there is disabled access and it is completely dog friendly.

Sharing the pin to the free cark park, because other wise I found it a little hard to find. The pin is away from the car park entrance, so whichever direction you travel in, you will be able to see the entrance hopefully more easily than I did:

Many dog walkers take this opportunity to let their furry friends have an off lead run around. So if your pup is anything like Pepper, and that is not always confident when dogs approach her, especially enthusiastically, this is just something to bear in mind. There is, however, plenty of space for everyone, so we didn't have any trouble.
