Herts #33: Sacombe

Updated: Nov 21, 2024

Footpaths weave through open fields, wooded areas, and gentle hills, with stunning views over the rolling landscape.

Nearest town: Ware

Duration: Around 1 hour or flexible

This quaint hamlet, known for the charming St. Catherine’s Church with its distinctive, white timber-framed tower, offers a serene setting for a countryside walk.

In spring and summer, wildflowers line the trails, adding color to the lush green surroundings, while autumn brings a rich palette of golden hues. Sacombe’s quiet lanes and scenic paths make it an ideal spot for anyone seeking a tranquil and picturesque walk in the heart of rural Hertfordshire.

A short drive away, are my favourite places for perfect stop overs:

For coffee, tea, cake and delicious sarnies visit Home | Ermines Cafe

Otherwise, Feathers Pub Restaurant in Wadesmill, Ware is probably my favourite pub in Hertfordshire.
